Hi Birthday Express readers!
My name is Jenny from Craft That Party, and I am one of the featured stylists for the Birthday Express Ideas blog. I tend to integrate lots of DIY ideas into parties and I am excited to share my tips and easy craft ideas with you right here each month.
Toot Toot Chugga Chugga…. it’s time to celebrate with The Wiggles! If your little one is into music and dancing, a wiggly birthday party might be a fun way to celebrate!
The Wiggles are best known for their live and energetic performances. I wanted to create a party that looked and felt like we were at one of their live shows.
To create my DIY stage, I bought a red tablecloth and cut it into 4 long pieces. I hung two pieces of curtain on each end of a large white foam board (found in art stores) and draped the remaining two curtain pieces in the middle. I secured each section to my board with binder clips.
Every live concert party needs a concession stand, right? We decided to serve foods you might find at a live event like popcorn and candy. Spice racks were the perfect size and shape to display a variety of candy boxes. This also gave the table some added height.
The vintage marquee letter banner designed by Piggy Bank Parties lights up the stage/dessert table and lets guests know that The Wiggles are in town!
Here is the amazing close up detail of the vintage marquee letter banner. You could even opt to put the birthday boy or girl’s name in lights instead!
Dress up a store bought cake with a fun Wiggles topper. I cut out the “Big Red Car” from the front of one of The Wiggles birthday invitations, then taped it to two toothpicks and inserted into the center of my cake.
Tambourines, microphones, bubble guitar necklaces, and these Wiggles centerpieces add a fun, musical feel to the party. The instruments and bubble necklaces can be used as photo props, decorations, or even favors to take home!
There are so many bright colors to add into a Wiggles party, have fun mixing and matching as many colors as you can!
Guitar cut outs also make great decorations or props for a photo booth area. Put on some music and snap some pictures of your birthday guests dancing, singing, and playing musical instruments.
As you can see, this party is rocking! You can easily recreate this look at home and have a lot of fun with The Wiggles!
