Miles From Tomorrowland Party by Brittany Schwaigert

 Hi Birthday Express readers!

My name is Brittany Schwaigert from GreyGrey Designs, and I am one of the featured stylists for the Birthday Express ideas blog. I’ll be blogging twice a month and giving you fresh ideas on how to take your Birthday Express parties to the next level and hopefully inspiring you to DIY your next party.  I’m so excited to continue working with Birthday Express this year on some really fun, new party themes and new spins on classic ones!

Brittany designed a fantastic Curious George Party, too!

Brittany built this amazing Lego party as well!

Miles, Miles, from Tomorrowland! Miles, Miles, from Tomorrowland! If you have little ones, you know exactly how the tune of this theme song goes!

It gets stuck in my head all the time because my 4 year old is a huge fan of Miles!  I was so excited to do a Miles party because I think the show is super cute and when I was a little girl, I loved everything involving space. I even had a telescope!

Since Miles is a new show on Disney Junior, there aren’t very many party items out there yet! But, lucky for you, Birthday Express has got you covered with Miles and space-themed items to make your party blast off!

I started my party design with this Starry Night background roll.

I rolled it out onto a large piece of insulation foam, which I often use for my party backdrops. Then, I added some paper lanterns in colors to match the theme.

I painted some of them in the colors that I wanted. Lanterns are so easy to paint! You can paint them with spray paint, or just acrylic craft paint. You could also paint them to look like planets!

I also used the Space Blast tablecloth to top my table to match the backdrop.

If you are doing a character party, I highly recommend you visit the website for the character! Disney Junior had a bunch of fun, FREE Miles-themed printables that I used for this party, including this hexagon banner I made.

It was supposed to make a mobile, but I modified it to be a cute banner.

Hexagons are a big part of the animation on Miles, and it is reflected in the partyware, so I used these hexagon shelves as my serving pieces.

I got them at a craft store and they were perfect for this party. Think outside the box (or the cake stand) when you are choosing your party décor!

These hexagons have a ton of cute uses! I added one of the free printables to the inside of some of the hexagons too, to tie them in with the theme.

For my party foods, I used all store-bought items! Don’t get too caught up in perfectly iced custom sugar cookies and fondant work! Kids love a store-bought cupcake or treat! In keeping with the space theme, I served Star Crunches (which I dressed up with some extra candy melts), Moon Pies, and Cosmic Brownies.

How easy is that? I don’t know about you, but I love some Little Debbie snacks!

I wrapped my cute cupcakes in these blue lightning cupcake wrappers and then added some of the free printables of the characters as toppers.

It’s as easy as printing them out and hot-gluing them to some toothpicks.

I also added some cosmic caramel apples! I displayed them inside the hexagons, with a free printable as a backdrop, to liven things up.

I made these at home with caramel in a black color and blue and orange candy melts.

Of course we had to have rock candy in our party colors!

And some whirly pops are always a big hit with the kids.

I dressed them up by adding planet stickers to the front.

For my cake, I used a blue cake mix and added rock candy and silver sprinkles. Miles and Merc are on the top, along with orange and silver gumballs around the base.

I think your little Astronaut will love celebrating in style with these awesome Miles party supplies!  Your Miles from Tomorrowland party will be the cutest party in the Stellosphere!
