Dr. Seuss’s ABC

Dr Seuss ABC

“A shindig, fiesta, or great jamboree: a party’s a party, for you and for me!”

Who doesn’t love the fun rhymes and illustrations of Dr. Seuss’ children’s books? Between the Cat in the Hat, Horton, and even the Grinch, everybody knows and loves something positively Seussy. With Dr. Seuss ABC party packs from Birthday Express, you can create a truly amazing birthday experience for your little one and relive memories of all the classic Seuss characters from your own childhood, too!

A great way to really set off our Dr. Seuss ABC plates and tableware is with a chalkboard-inspired tablescape. Make outlines for each table setting, and let each child write their name at their own place. Chalkboard spray paint can be found cheaply at most craft stores, but you also emulate the look with black paper and chalk, or a black table cover and white paint markers.

Glass jars of Sixlets candy, adorned with ribbon and Dr. Seuss stickers, make a pair of sweet centerpieces for this theme – the kids will be sure to love them! Another idea is to stack up some old books and pair them with our Dr. Seuss gift boxes. You can even fill these with candies or use them as party favor boxes for the guests to take home!  They can also take home their cupcakes to enjoy later. To give them the Dr. Seuss look, simply add a polka dot cupcake wrapper and a single colored birthday candle.

As much as we’d love to, we can’t have a party with just cupcakes and candy. If you’re looking for a healthy party snack option, try serving up freshly cut carrot sticks and other veggies in clear plastic cups. String cheese and cherry tomatoes make colorful kabobs that fit with the Dr. Seuss theme perfectly. Popcorn is another healthy (and tasty!) party food, and you can make it so much more fun than a big, boring bowl:

Simply roll some squares of Dr. Seuss wrapping paper into cones, and you’ve got a cute, handheld serving suggestion! For our display, we decorated an old shoe box with ribbon and Dr. Seuss decals, and cut a few holes in the lid to hold the cones. Marshmallows dipped in icing and again in colored decorating sugar complement them well. Green, red, and yellow tissue puffs make for a wonderfully whimsical Dr. Seuss decoration.

Speaking of which, no Dr. Seuss party should be without Dr. Seuss ABC wall decals. Your child will have fun helping to put them up, they make your party scene pop, and they make fantastic bedroom or playroom decorations afterwards!

I'm happiest when I'm surrounded by color and cool patterns, and lots of choices in both! No girl party would be complete without balloons, patterned straws, and a bit of bling.
