A great way to complement these party supplies is by using a strip of burlap from the fabric store as a table runner – very Old West chic! We also made some quick and easy napkin rings with a few loops of twine. The red paisley napkins included in our Cowboy theme look just like the real thing, and handing each guest their own red bandana to wear at the party gets everybody involved in the fun!
We were also able to find a cool fake oxen skull to dress the table – little boys love that kind of stuff – but you can just as well use anything with a Western look. Try some cowboy boots, or a bucking bronco piñata.
Western money bags make for an adorable inclusion to this party theme, too. Stuff them with oversized play money to create some easy centerpieces, or fill them up with candy and treats for kids. Just don’t be surprised if you end up with a bank robbery on your hands!
Serve up some cold sodas and root beer for the cowboys at your sarsaparilla saloon — empty Mason jars make great glasses, and you can add some silver sheriff badges for an authentic western feel. We also used a jar to display some blue Sixlet candies and whirly pops, but plastic boot cups are another option for this theme as well. A cowboy hat and some coiled rope creates an easy wall decoration for the background.
Cowboy party favor boxes are a must have for every deputy. Get them pre-filled with Cowboy stickers, horse figurines, and other goodies, or add a completely custom collection of items a la carte! Displaying the favors on miniature hay bales is a fun way to add a little height to the table, too.
With all the different elements to mix and match with this party theme, it’s like a wide open western frontier! Add some Cowboy costumes and accessories: not only will the birthday boy have a blast, but the rest of the kids will love dressing up too! From cowboy hats and bandanas to bolo ties and cow print vests, it’s all there. When the party’s over, add the costumes to the playroom and save them to play another day!
