Firetrucks and Fun

Fireman party by Magnolia Creative Co.

It’s a five-alarm birthday celebration! For her son’s third birthday, Emily of Magnolia Creative Co. hosted this wonderfully fun firefighter birthday party (with a real vintage fire truck, too – best birthday ever!). At Birthday Express, we have tons of firefighter party supplies, but she really shows what you can do with a little imagination and a lot of love.

Check out Emily’s full blog post here, or keep on reading to see the highlights and get inspiration to throw your own firefighter birthday theme!

For this firefighter birthday party centerpiece, Emily repurposed some old skyscrapers from a previous party – miscellaneous boxes decorated with paper to look like buildings – and cut out some orange, red, and yellow craft foam for the flames. Super simple, but it almost looks too hot to handle!

Table cloths aren’t just for the table, either. Use a blue plastic tablecover to create a fun sky backdrop and hang up some white fluffy tissue paper puffs to act as clouds.

Red metal buckets make for an easy and attractive way to display plastic silverware on the table. You can even kick up the color a notch with orange or red silverware – who said forks had to white?

Similarly, you can use our themed fire truck plates and napkins, or feel free to build your own custom color scheme.  Solid color plates in red and yellow are a smart way to tie your party together, without taking focus away from your other details.

Can you imagine anything cuter to go with a firefighter birthday theme than a fire truck birthday cake? This sheet cake is from Aly B’s Bakery, and we love how perfect looking (and tasting!) it is for this party. Any little boy would be thrilled to celebrate with this unique birthday cake. Remember to share your best birthday cake photos on our Facebook page!

And what firefighter party would be complete without fireman hats? We love how Emily used them to create a garland for added “pop” outdoors.  Not only were the hats were used throughout the party as décor, but they also acted as fun favors for the kids during and after the event. They’ll be a hit for sure!
