Activities
Pin the Tail on the Giraffe
Supplies:
- Yellow construction paper
- Brown or black marker
- Scissors
- Tape
- Blindfold
Directions:
Draw and cut out giraffe using yellow construction paper. Color the giraffe spots and draw on eyes and mouth. Cut enough strips of the yellow construction paper for each guest to use as the giraffe tail and write their names on the back. Place a piece of tape on the back of each tail. Place a blindfold on the player spin him or her three times and the player to get the tail closest to the correct spot wins a prize.
Musical Giraffes
Supplies:
- Yellow construction paper
- Maker
- Scissors
- Tape
- Chairs (one less chair than there are players)
- Party music
Directions:
Draw and cut a side profile of a giraffe face using yellow construction paper. Draw on eyes and mouth. Tape each giraffe to the back of a chair. Place chairs in a circle, be sure to leave enough space between the chairs for walking. Play some upbeat and fun party music of your choice while your guests walk around the outside of the circle. Once you stop the music the kid’s then race for a giraffe. The player left without a giraffe leave the game and you repeat this until there is one player left. The last player receives a prize.
Backyard Safari
Supplies:
Take your little guests on an educational backyard safari! Simply place animal cut-outs throughout your yard. You can also get creative by making your own animal cut outs using construction paper, markers, and paint. Once you have placed them through the yard take the group on a safari. Have each child point out the animals and try to name them. Make it even more educational by telling the group something about each animal like their habitats or whether the travel in groups or not. At the end of the safari have a table set up with little toy animals for your guests to choose from for a cool take home gift.
Giraffe Puzzle Race
Supplies:
- Poster board
- 2-Giraffe posters (optional)
- Glue
- Scissors
Your little guests will love this game it’s educational and fun! Glue two posters of giraffes to two poster boards or get creative and draw the giraffes on the poster boards. Cut the poster boards into large puzzle piece shapes. Split your guests into two teams and when you say “go” the teams work together to complete the puzzle. The team to complete the puzzle the fastest wins a small prize.

Giraffe Sugar Cookies
Estimated Total Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
- Premade sugar cookie dough
- Chocolate frosting
- Icing bag with single icing tip
Supplies:
- Giraffe shape cookie cutter
- Non-stick baking sheet
Directions:
Roll out dough until it is slightly thicker than edge of cookie cutter. Cut using cookie cutter and place on a non stick baking sheet. Bake as directed on the package and cool on a wire rack. Empty frosting into icing bag and pipe giraffe eyes, ears, mouth, and spots.
PB & J Giraffe Sandwiches
Estimated Total Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- Bread
- Peanut Butter
- Jelly
Supplies:
- Giraffe shape cookie cutter
- Serving platter
Directions:
Spread peanut butter and jelly onto a slice of bread and close with dry slice. Cut sandwiches using giraffe shape cookie cutter. Serve either on a platter of individually.
Ants on a Log
Estimated Total Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- Celery
- Peanut Butter
- Raisins or chocolate chips

Directions:
Clean and cut celery into 3 inch sticks. Spread a light layer of peanut butter across each celery stick. Place raisins or chocolate chips across the peanut butter.
Fruit Salad
