Activities
Ballerina Musical Chairs
Supplies:
- moveable chairs
- tutus
- classical music
Directions:
Put a new spin on everyone’s favorite game! Begin by dressing each of your ballerinas in a tutu and then let the music play. Each of the girls should prance on their tip-toes until the music stops. The player that doesn’t have a chair to sit in is out. Remove one chair after each turn until only the winner remains.
How Many Pink Pearls?
Supplies:
Directions:
Before the party, fill one jar with candy. Pour them out; count them; then pour back into the jar again. Save the number, and at the party, invite everyone to guess how many candies are in the jar. Set out slips of paper and pens for your guests to write their names and guesses on. Ask everyone to fold the slips and put them into the second jar. The winner who guesses the closest number wins the Sixlets!
Prima Ballerina Primp Parlor
Supplies:
Directions:
Set up a glamour station and help your party guests transform into prima ballerinas! Put their hair up into high buns, using the hair ties and bobby pins. A little glitter makeup and a fluffy tutu will get them ready for the spotlight!
Ballet Slipper Piñata
Supplies:
Directions:
Piñatas are always a hit at birthday parties. Give your dancing dolls a treat with the ballet slipper piñata, which perfectly matches your party theme! Pull-string piñatas are especially fun, because kids choose a ribbon and pull together—so everyone wins! They can also be opened the traditional way (by hitting it with a stick) – either way, remember to add the piñata fillers and let the festivities begin!
Recipes
Tutu Much Punch
Estimated Total Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 quarts of lemon-lime soda
- raspberry sherbet
- 1 can of frozen pink lemonade, thawed
Supplies:
Directions:
Get ready for some fizzy fun! At serving time, place raspberry sherbet in punch bowl (to cut down on splashes). Then add the pink lemonade and lemon-lime soda – the punch will begin to fizz. Stir and serve with pink and white striped straws, of course!
Pink Marshmallow Fluff
Estimated Total Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 box (3.5 oz) strawberry Jell-O
- 1 container (12 oz) Cool Whip
- mini marshmallows (the assorted flavors bag works the best)
- 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple
- 1 can (15 oz) mandarin oranges
- ½ cup of shredded coconut (optional)
Directions:
Like a fluffy tutu of creamy, dreamy goodness! Mix the gelatin and cool whip together (you want to be sure that all of the powder is dissolved into the whipped topping – this will take a little bit). Fold in the mandarin oranges, pineapple, coconut and marshmallows. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the fluff to set.
Dancing Queen Royal Rice Krispie Treats
Estimated time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 cups of miniature marshmallows
- 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal
Supplies:
Directions:
Melt the butter in a large sauce pan on low heat. Stir in the marshmallows until they are completely melted. Using a piece of wax paper to cover your hand (and to prevent the mixture from sticking), press the Rice Krispies into a 9x13 pan. Once cooled, use the princess cookie cutters to create treats fit for a dancing queen!
Pretty in Pink Cake Pops
Estimated Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
- 24 doughnut holes
- 1 package (12 oz) candy melts
Supplies:
Directions:
Not only are these cake pops easy and delicious, they are also an impressive visual addition to your buffet table. Begin by sticking a straw into each doughnut hole (this will be the stick to hold on to the pop when you take a bite). In a microwave safe bowl, slowly melt the candy melts (not too fast - you do not want the candy to burn) per the package directions. Dip the donut holes into the candy melt and sprinkle with pink edible glitter. Set the cake pops on wax paper and allow them to cool. Serve with Tutu Much Punch!
