Activities
Karaoke
Bust out your favorite Alvin and the chipmunks CD and have the kids sing along! Make sure to have a stage and microphone set up! If your television connects to the internet, you can find chipmunk karaoke songs with the lyrics on YouTube or other like video streaming sites! .
Musical Chairs
Use your favorite chipmunk jams to play a game of musical chairs!
Supplies:
- 1-Chair for each party guest - 1
- Alvin and the Chipmunks CD
- CD player
Directions:
Start the music and let the kids jam out while walking in a circle around the chairs. When the music stops, the children must find a chair to sit in. The child left standing is out. Take out one chair and repeat. The last child left sitting is the winner!
3. ALVIN!!! Character Hunt
Supplies:
- 10-Alvin character cut outs
Directions:
Hide Alvin cut outs around the party area and have the kids search for them. When an Alvin cut out is found have the child yell “ALVIIIIN!!!” and give them a prize.
Alvin and the Chipmunks Movie!
Once all of the party guests have tired of running around, sit them down to watch one of the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies (My personal favorite is the old school “The Chipmunk Adventure”) to entertain them while they regain their energy and you get the food ready!
Recipes
Waffle Bar
Waffles are good at any time of day AND they just happen to be the favorite food of Alvin, Simon and Theodore!
Ingredients:
- Waffles (recipe of your choice or toaster waffles)
- Whipped cream
- Strawberries
- Powdered sugar
- Maple syrup
- Blueberries
Chipmunk trail mix
Estimated Total Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2-Cups peanuts (unsalted)
- 2-Cups M & M’s
- 2-Cups raisins
- 2-Cups goldfish
Directions:
Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly with a spatula. Put in a bowl for the party guests to snack on during the party! Add more ingredients as needed.
Microphone cupcakes
Ingredients:
- Colored sugar cones
- Baked cupcakes
- White frosting
- Black sugar sprinkles
- Black icing coloring
- Licorice (for the cord) – you can use any color or flavor
- M&M’s – my added surprise in the cone
Directions:
Use black food coloring to turn the frosting black. After you frost the cupcakes, use the frosting around the inside of the cone to make the cupcakes stick. Then sprinkle the black sugar sprinkles on the cupcakes. If you’d like, add m & m’s or any other type of small candy as a fun surprise inside of the cone before you add the cupcakes. Poke a hole in the side of the cone and insert licorice so you’re little one’s will look ready to rock out!
Ants on a Log
Estimated Total Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 10-Stalks of celery
- 1-Cup of peanut butter
- ½-Cup of raisins
Directions:
Cut your celery stalks in half. Once they are all cut spread the peanut butter inside of them. After that, sprinkle on the raisins. A fun, tasty and healthy treat! (Makes 20)
