Memorial Day Party
Memorial Day is a day to honor those who have died while serving the country.
It is somber event, but it has become a day to celebrate those lives and celebrate the freedom those fallen heroes have given us. Due to when it falls each year, it is also the unofficial kick off to summer, so it's commonly celebrated with cook outs, pool parties and other outdoor celebrations. Families get together and friends stop by to share in the festivities. The theme of any celebration is always America with red, white and blue everything.
You'll want to do up your party space with red, white and blue decorations. Throw in a few items with flag, star and firework designs to really pump up the patriotism. Fill the space with balloons, use crepe paper to add a festive flair and hang some paper lanterns in case the party goes long into the night. Don't forget to put up a pop up patriotic trash bin to keep things clean and tidy.
This holiday is often when many people pull their grills out for the first time after winter. This means grilled treats of all kinds, like hot dogs, burgers and veggies. Fruits are coming into season, too, so fresh fruit dishes are usually plentiful. Serve all this yummy food up on patriotic designed plates with blue silverware on the side. Make sure everyone keeps clean with matching napkins. Don't forget to serve up some sweet berry spritzers, ice cold beers and frosty sodas in coordinating cups.
