Activities
Mark’s Magic Picture Mural
Estimated time: 25 minutes
Supplies:
Kids get to draw pictures, just like Mark! Hang a wide sheet of butcher paper on a wall, or spread it on a smooth floor surface. Provide water-based paints, markers, crayons, Yo Gabba Gabba! wall decorations, etc. for kids to use while creating their pictures. (This is a good activity to do while guests are arriving.)
Papa Goon’s Fish Pond
Estimated time: 25 minutes
Supplies:
Papa Goon likes to fish for interesting things. Invite all the kids to do the same. Hang a clothesline or rope in the air (about 6 feet from the floor), and spread a sheet over it to create a fishing wall. Next take a fishing pole, or a long stick, and attach string to an end; tie a paper clip to other end. Let the kids take turns “casting” their lines over the sheet. Have a helper hide on the other side, attach party favors, then give the line a slight tug. Kids “reel” in their catch and enjoy!
Musical Yo Gabba Gabba! Squirters
Estimated time: 25 minutes
Supplies:
Select the first squirter. Seat everyone in a circle, and put on the party music CD. Kids pass around the squirter while music plays. When the music stops, the child holding the squirter gets to keep it, and steps out of the game. Continue the game with a new squirter each time until everyone has won. Then, if it’s hot outside, invite everyone to dip their toys in water, and have a silly squirt party.
Cool Tricks
Estimated time: 25 minutes
Supplies:
Ask kids what cool trick they would do if they were on Yo Gabba Gabba! Turn on some playful music, then invite everyone to take turns showing a cool trick (like a funny move, special stretch or dance step). Ask everyone else to follow. When it feels like a good time to switch players, say “Cool Trick! Who’s next?”
Recipes
Yo Gabba Gabba! Cupcakes
Ingredients:
Supplies:
- cupcake wrappers
- cupcake tin
Bake cupcakes, and frost them in different solid colors—to match each of the Yo Gabba Gabba characters. Then add the mini character standups from our cake toppers set. Another option is to use decorator gels to create faces of the characters. (Look at the pictures on your partyware for some good examples.) Then invite all the kids to have a cupcake party in their tummies!
DJ Lance Rock Juicy Juice
Ingredients:
- orange juice
- ginger ale
- round orange slices
This punch is orange and bubbly, just like DJ Lance Rock! Fill a pitcher with orange juice, and add a touch of ginger ale. Pour into our Yo Gabba Gabba! tumblers, and add a slice of orange to each cup.
Archibald’s Goblet Sundaes
Ingredients:
- sliced fruit (berries, bananas, peaches, etc.)
- whipped cream
- chocolate and caramel
- gummy worms
Supplies:
Archibald, the friendly purple worm, would love to put one of these in his tummy! Serve up in colorful purple goblets that the kids can take home as party souvenirs. First pour sliced fruit into separate goblets. Then add a couple dollops of whipped cream to each. Drizzle with chocolate and caramel (warmed separately in a microwave). Then top with gummy worms! Mmmmm...yummy for the tummy!
